This morning one of my best friends--Russ--is preaching. It will be his last week in my region because we can't afford him to keep interning in the campus ministry. He baptized me, and has been my best friend for the last 7 months. I love him a lot, but unfortunately I won't be able to watch him preach because I'm going to my cousin's confirmation in Temecula...I'm extremely disappointed, but at the same time I really need to show my respect--even though I disagree with their traditions.
I'm still reading in Proverbs and last night I jotted down these very practical ones (see NLT): Proverbs 11:7 (when wicked die, their hopes die also. cus they rely on own strength); 11:22 (beauty--pigs snout!); 12:1 (discipline); 12:10 (for Carsten); 12:11 (hard work vs. chasing fantasies); 15:17 (VEGGIES w/ love VS. STEAK w/ hate) 16:26 (work hungry) 16:33 (we throw dice but GOD chooses how they fall)

2. Date, Supernova, Proverbs
I just got home from a double with Elena, Nacho, and Alexis. We saw a drive-in movie and had a prayer time, it was awesome as all dates within the church have been for me. However, I learned I need to be extra careful to not step on dog poop while I'm on a date. The worse part was I didn't even know it until I got home...pretty sad. But this is why we make mistakes, so we won't make them again when the stakes are higher.
I also watched a video produced by this guy about supernova's. Apparently, stars are really just very concentrated energy that produce light and heat. All stars die, and the smaller ones go out with a BANG--aka supernova.
The last thing I learned today--probably most importantly--is that the Proverbs are amazing. They are so practical and easy to read, I absolutely love Solomon. But yeah I read the first 10 chapters of that book so I'm pretty stoked on that.
Im bummed that I won't be able to hear Russ preach tomorrow--going to my cousins confirmation. But I will be able to hear the recording of it.

1
I've realized sometimes I make the same mistake twice, and that I forget a lot of the things I learn. As a result, I am making a blog consisting of the major lessons--spiritual or academic--that I am learning daily. Entries might be similar Proverbs, or just a few words. But hopefully this will be something I can go back to later on for help.
